There are few places I've visited that invite you to slow down quite like Italy. After spending the afternoon wandering Varenna’s narrow streets and lakeside paths, I made my way through the gardens of Villa Monastero, where every turn seemed to reveal another beautiful view of Lake Como. The marble statue also seemed to be taking in the view.
